Conflict resolution
We have all experienced conflict situations before. They are completely normal and part of overyone's life. Every exchange with other people can lead to conflicts. In private life, the friction and discrepancies with your partner or family members; or in the office, the annoying behavior of a colleague; or in a team, when the group disagree on how to proceed with a task.
Conflicts often reveal undiscovered weaknesses in communication, in work processes or in the structure itself of an organization. These deficits can be eliminated with specific conflict resolution techniques and practices. Therefore, you shouldn't shy away from conflicts, but instead, learn how to deal with them constructively. Conflicts are usually a testimony of an intensive engagement of two opposing positions - and these can be dwindled and resolved. Even complicated situations can be resolved with the help of an experienced coach. The right techniques will help.
The PARI approach is a technique that can be of good service when dealing with conflicts: Perceive - Approach- Resolve - Implement. It provides a clear method on how handle and proceed with a conflict and thus helps to find possible solutions.
